The fourth episode illustrates chapter 8 of The first book of Nephi, where Lehi has a vision full of symbolism, including the tree of life. He eats or partakes of his fruit and wants his family to do the same. He sees an iron rod, a narrow, narrow path, and the vapours of darkness that envelop men. Saríah, Nephi, and Sam eat of the fruit, but Laman and Lemuel refuse.
