The eighth chapter of the second season of the Book of Mormon is based on the book of Enos. They run from 544 to 421 BC in the land of Nephi. Enos, a Book of Mormon prophet, goes into the woods to hunt and cries with powerful prayer to God all day until night. He hears the voice of God and is forgiven of his sins by his faith in Christ. Enos then prays for his Nephite and Lamanite brethren, and asks the Lord to preserve a record of his people so that future generations may be led to salvation.
